Venezuelan Young Woman Conquers the Master Chef Uruguay with a “Goat in Coconut”

December 13th, 2017.- The Venezuelan chef María Gracia Sosa won the contest MasterChef Uruguay this Tuesday. This contest awards the best cook in the country.
Sosa has been a resident in Uruguay in the last two years. She also won $200,000 in cash on behalf of the Institute Crandon Gastronómica, a trip to Girona, España, to study at the Cell de Can Roca (a restaurant awarded with three Michelin stars), and a 0 miles Volkswagen Up.

María Gracia was competing with Luciana. She was her rival at the finale of the reality show. The test was to obtain the award was to develop a free menú (with no specific dish). It had to be composed by three meals: An entry, a main course and dessert.
Each one of them had to be prepared in a creative and sofisticated way to the perfection.
The 29-yr Young chef astonished the jury with a loin tataki (her first course). The second, a goat in coconut (according to the experts it was the accurate choice), and for dessert she prepared a passion fruit mousse with a chocolate crisp. “It’s a very fine and delicate dessert.Very good”, Lucía Soria, a part of the jury, stressed.
The MasterChef jury was composed by Lucía, Sergio and Laurent. They gave the final verdict and acknowledged María as the new master of the Uruguayan cuisine. Also, the sucesor of the winner from the first season, Nilson Viazzo.
